Monday, Monday...

Great weekend! Gareth was here and gave us a chance to get out of our usual routine. For his birthday, we made lasagna for dinner Saturday night and strawberry shortcake for dessert. I haven't made either of those in a long while. Very yummy. We went out to the Point No Point Lighthouse and for the first time visiting there it was sunny and absolutely stunning. The mountains were clear and the sky was blue. People were walking on the beach and some were flying kites. Gareth seemed to really like the area here. We delivered him to the airport yesterday until next time :-)

My sister from Florida writes to tell me that she has already started up the air conditioning; quite early in the season for them. We haven't turned off the heat! This morning it's 36 degrees. Rain and high winds are promised for later in the day. On our trip to the airport yesterday, we noticed that the Scotch Broom is in bloom. It's an annual show of bright yellow all over the county, considered a weed by the natives. But it's a sure sign of Spring's persistence.

I'll deliver John to the airport transporter in just a bit and we'll get on with the week. Take care...
